Let Us Introduce Ourselves

REMOTE ESCAPES

Welcome to our studio!  We’re so happy you’re here.  Let me take a moment to let you get to know a little bit about us since we sincerely hope we will soon become good friends.

My name is Paula McClure, and I am definitely not new to quilting.  I learned to quilt as a child watching my older relatives sitting around a set of quilting frames, propped on chair backs, with the most gorgeous and colorful quilts in the frame.  As they hand quilted the hand pieced treasures and chatted gingerly about the items of the day, I soon found myself right in the middle, happily stitching and chatting away.  As my quilting styles evolved through the years, I began experimenting in all sorts of things, from machine quilting to rotary cutting, strip piecing, on to the longarm quilting I enjoy today.

Needless to say, I LOVE QUILTING!

Now I would like for you to get to know my amazing (and sometimes cantankerous) quilting partner, Ruby.  Ruby is my Gammill Statler Stitcher. She has, not one, but TWO computers and three motors.  Most of the time she thinks she’s in charge, but every so often I have to remind her that I’m the one that has the final word! LOL.

Together our ultimate goal is to produce a finished quilt that is, not only beautiful, but also sturdy, and of heirloom quality.  Our passion is vintage quilts, but we also have a great time putting the finishing touches on your amazing creations.

T-Shirt quilts are really special. Ruby and I love seeing all the different shirts you provide and have a blast arranging and rearranging them until we discover the best layout setting possible.

And, we can’t forget about one of our most sentimental quilts, the sweet and loving Memory Quilts.  One of our greatest honors is to take items from your loved one and tenderly stitch them into something that will honor the life of that person.  Our hearts are truly touched by your trust in us with such treasures.

And I saved the best to last… the darling little baby quilts!  Gotta keep that little sweetie warm and cozy!

So, as we hope you can see, quilting is a sometimes emotional but always time-honoring profession in our opinion.  We often rejoice with you over the exciting moments in your life, and weep with you over the painful losses.  We take our profession very seriously.  So, please, let us say “Thank You!” for allowing us to serve you.
